![]() The cops are a major factor in three other single-player race modes: Escape, where you just have to get the cops off your tail, Cop Take-Out, which gives you a target number of police cruisers to wreck, and Cost to State, where your goal is to do a certain amount of property damage while running from the law. Not only can you escape the cops with moderately skillful driving, you can also plow through construction zone hotspots to drop an unfinished overpass or a craneload of steel beams on them, ending their pursuit in spectacular fashion. This is the one area where Undercover rises above the competition. ![]() Oh no! Po-Po! Yes, by popular demand, over-the-top cop chases have returned, and unlike Midnight Club: LA's ruthless law enforcers, you actually stand a chance of escaping them. You can't drive to the races, and there's nothing to discover by just driving around the city except getting in trouble with the law, which you'll do plenty of during the course of the races. Plus, there's simply no reason for such a vast, open city. All of the effort put into modeling it was essentially wasted, because the game can't render it quickly enough, and when you reach an area with a deep horizon, the frame rate bottoms out. NEED FOR SPEED UNDERCOVER CHEATS PS3 HOW TOThe 360 has it better than the PS3, but it's still a completely unnecessary hindrance in a next-gen racing title.Īnd while the Tri-Bay Area is remarkably huge, this is one case where size definitely matters less than knowing how to use it. ![]() The game's most egregious issue is its frame rate, which gets unforgivably choppy at high speeds or lots of rivals near you-basically, exactly when you can least afford it. Then again, considering some of Undercover's technical glitches, maybe it's worth a few bucks to jump ahead.
